Helpful tips


  • Use breads and grains made from refined flour, pasta, and white rice. Do not use whole grain products.
  • Stay away from seeds, nuts, and raw or dried fruits. Also avoid raisins, berries, and foods that have these things in them.
  • Stay away from fresh fruits and veggies. Some exceptions are lettuce, ripe bananas, cucumber, onions, zucchini, and melons.
  • Stay away from juices with pulp.
  • Remove skin from fruits and veggies before cooking.
  • Stay away from prunes and prune juice.
  • Stay away from dried beans and lentils.
  • Limit milk and milk products to 2 cups daily if they make loose stools worse. Do not drink milk if you are lactose intolerant.
  • If any food makes loose stools worse, stop eating that food and try it again later once you no longer have loose stools.
