Weight Watcher's Diet

About this topic

The Weight Watchers Diet is a weight-loss program. You do not have to cut out any of the foods you like. Instead, you count calories to keep track of what you eat. Exercising and being more active are also part of the program. The program helps you lose weight slowly. The goal of the plan is to change your eating habits for a long-term solution. ‚
The program is based on a point system. The plan gives you daily points based on your size and your daily habits. ‚
The point system is called Points Plus. It gives every food a Points Plus value. This helps you to decide what food to eat so you keep within your number of points for the day. For example, a half cup of apple juice is 1 point. You add up your points as the day goes by to get a total at the end of the day. ‚

General

The Weight Watchers program is a low-fat program for dieting. You can still eat regular food. It teaches you to eat smarter. You exercise and make changes in how you live. Your plan is always available because you can access it through the internet. ‚
The Weight Watchers Diet has two diet plans: ‚
  • Flex ¢ ˆ ’ This plan lets you eat the food you love and lose weight. A Daily Points Range is given to members based on how much they weigh and how tall they are.
  • Core ¢ ˆ ’ This plan lets you make a core list of healthy foods to eat without counting calories. You try and stick to this list. This list includes foods that are low in fat and calories.

When your diet plan is set, the program gives you an exercise plan. It teaches you to be more active by changing your habits. All types of physical activities, like walking and running, are given point values. You can use these extra points any way you like. ‚
This program also has local group meetings. You can join a meeting through the internet or attend one in person. Members support each other during these meetings. ‚
