    You may be able to go home the same day if this was done as an outpatient. � �

    What follow-up care is needed?


    • Your doctor will ask you to make visits to the office to check on your progress. Be sure to keep these visits.
    • You will have many visits with your doctor so the tissue expander can be filled. The doctor will also make sure new skin is growing.
    • Your doctor will take out the tissue expander when the right amount of new skin is made.

    What problems could happen?


    • Infection
    • Tissue expander could leak or break
